摘要: BACKGROUND This study aims to examine the feasibility of a novel multi-layer barrier film made entirely from biopolymers, which can be disposed after use in an economically and ecologically acceptable way, by employing mechanical strength moisture poly(lactide) (PLA) films oxygen enhancement whey protein isolate (WPI) films. The effect glycerol was also determined. three-layer films, PLA/WPI/PLA, were compared with those linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE/WPI/LLDPE). Composite structures obtained simple casting method using denatured WPI solution plasticised (GLY) at three different ratios GLY:WPI (1:4, 1:2.5 1:1.5). applied between two base layers corona-treated PLA or LLDPE films. RESULT The showed good appearance no noticeably visible change adhesion layers. enhanced tensile composite structure. Oxygen permeability significantly lower than water vapour structure relied mainly on plasticiser content did not affect properties structures. CONCLUSION Results suggested that could work successfully as alternative layer structures. © 2014 Society Chemical Industry
