Cross linking of proteinsin vitro by peroxidase

摘要: The enzyme peroxidase, a substrate (hydrogen donor), and hydrogen peroxide aggregated polymerized soluble proteins included in the reaction mixture. Gel filtration acrylamide disk gel electrophoresis revealed newly formed dimers, trimers, higher protein polymers. Some of polymers withstood denaturing conditions dodecyl sulfate electrophoresis; thus formation some covalent cross links was indicated. It is suggested that peroxidase catalyzes oxidation donors to form free radicals or quinones, which subsequently interact with, link, alter proteins.
