摘要: This paper describes a low-distortion wide-band CMOS direct digital RF amplitude modulator, which uses 10-bit linear interpolation current-steering digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and Gilbert-cell-based mixer to generate an modulated signal directly. The increases the attenuation of DAC's image components. reconstruction filter is, therefore, eliminated. differential current signals are directly sent mixer, improves linearity signal. Thus, transmitter structure is simplified, low distortion achieved. modulator suitable for system-on-chip (SOC) design easily scalable. chip was fabricated in 0.35-/spl mu/m 3.3-V double-poly triple-metal process. core size 0.52 mm/spl times/0.68 mm. With 3.3-MHz modulation signal, 50-MHz clock, 1-GHz carrier, components below -53.81 dBc, 47.45 dB. output power -6.5 dBm, total consumption 159.8 mW.
