摘要: Abstract The orientation relationships, habit plane and surface contour associated with the martensitic transformation in iodide titanium were investigated. markings studied those on natural facets of specimens, which had originally been single crystals β-phase. relationship was close to but not quite identical Burgers relationship: (0001)β | {110}β; {H20}α || {lll}β; deviations 1 2−1° . {8, 9, 12}, an accuracy 1°. orientations individual variants analysed fitted into a consistent scheme that expected if mechanism proposed by operated. Each 10° from variant {112} predicted as shear Burgers. Data showed direction atom motion 〈111〉 required Burgers, though magnitude tilt smaller than predicted. precise plates, revealed multiple beam interferometry, accommodation slip occurred would reduce tilt. results could be satisfactorily interpreted basis Frank's theory transformation, they provide some support for Geisler's views.
