摘要: In the present work traditional ingot metallurgy plus rapid solidification techniques were used to in situ produce Al-TiC composites with refined microstructures and enhanced dispersion hardening of reinforcing phases. Microstructural characterization experimental materials comprehensively done by optical, electron microscopy X-ray diffraction. The results show that synthesized TiC particles possess a metastable fcc crystal structure an atomic composition TiC08 lattice parameter 0.431 nm. typical exhibit aggregates particle phase segregated generally at α-Al subgrain or grain boundaries consisted fine 0.2–1.0 μm. After re-melting ingots hence solidification, formed under certain thermal history conditions contained uniform fine-scale size range 40–80 nm Al supersaturated matrix 0.30–0.85 μm size. most case these dispersed have semi-coherent relationship matrix.
