摘要: Background Cord blood-IgE as risk factor or predictor for atopic diseases in infants has been discussed a large number of papers with contradictory results. Our aim was to evaluate cord and dermatitis, recurrent wheezing sensitization emphasis on clear-cut distinction between predictor. Methods A cohort 1314 newborns recruited six German obstetric departments followed-up 5 years. Four hundred ninty-nine (38%) were considered be at high least two family members and/or value above the threshold 0.9 kU/L. At follow-up visits, parents filled questionnaire, clinically examined, blood samples taken. Results With regard early onset dermatitis up 12 months we found that odds ratios cut-off points 0.70 kU/L 1.25 kU/L values 0.53 0.32, respectively, smaller than one (i.e. protective factors) highly statistically significant. No significant association elevated wheezing. There strong positive levels months, but even this case predictive performance rather poor: maximum 42% attained point 3.0 kU/L, sensitivity only 10%. Conclusion We conclude when are identified sensitization, their poor may make them useless basis preventive measures.
