摘要: Vaccination against rumen methanogens offers a practical approach to reduce methane emissions in livestock, particularly ruminants grazing on pasture. Although successful vaccination strategies have been reported for reducing the activity of rumen-dwelling organism Streptococcus bovis sheep and S. Lactobacillus spp. cattle, earlier approaches using vaccines based whole methanogen cells production produced less promising results. An anti-methanogen vaccine will need broad specificity commonly found induce antibody saliva resulting delivery sufficiently high levels antibodies activity. Our has focussed identifying surface membrane-associated proteins that are conserved across range methanogens. The identification potential antigens assisted by recent advances knowledge genomes. Methanogen shown be immunogenic with these induced specific responses contents. Current studies directed towards key candidate investigating level types salivary cattle vaccinated proteins, stability their impact microbial populations. In addition, there is identify adjuvants stimulate suitable formulating protein produce low-cost effective vaccine.
