摘要: Hyperbilirubinemia generally relates to an elevated bilirubin level in the blood and is usually indication of a disease blood, liver, or biliary tract. Hemoperfusion using synthetic resins as sorbents has been one ways reduce bilirubin. In this study, chitosan, natural polysaccharide having structural characteristics similar glycosaminoglycans which nontoxic biocompatible, used for binding. Several layers poly-L-lysine have coated covalently onto chitosan beads, N2 plasma carbodiimide treatments. Such surface-modified beads exhibited high binding affinities (1.13 +/- 0.18 mg/g beads) aqueous phosphate buffer solutions at 4 degrees C relation activated charcoal (0.74 0.2 mg/g). The polylysine-coated reported improved affinity over cholestyramine. It seems that surface-immobilized polylysine increased highly stable. capacity proportional amount bonded beads. hemolytic potential all modified compatible with polystyrene control tubes. Studies were also performed against albumin proof specificity toward albumin-coated shown highest compatibility selectivity other However, it appears polylysine-modified may be excellent sorbent system hemoperfusion due its affinity, capacity, compatibility. Further studies are needed determine behavior under clinical conditions.
