摘要: Antibodies to intermediate filament proteins were used characterize tumor cells present in peritoneal and pleural effusions thin needle aspirates from palpable lymph nodes. Metastatic adenocarcinoma (breast, ovary, endometrium, cervix, colon stomach) as well squamous-cell carcinomas mesotheliomas stained specifically with antibodies keratin while mesenchymally derived (lymphomas, melanoma, fibrosarcoma neurofibrosarcoma) positive only for vimentin. Especially cases of node aspirates, staining was a direct indication metastatic carcinoma. these different components the cytoskeleton can thus be cytopathologic diagnosis when definitive cannot made on basis conventional cytologic features.
