摘要: Feeding refusal is often described in conjunction with the diagnosis of eosinophilic esophagitis (EE) pediatric patients; however, there are little data regarding specific clinical manifestations and effective management this condition very young children. The aim study was to evaluate presentation EE infants toddlers referred Interdisciplinary Team Clinic a tertiary referral center document responses treatment. Database matching performed (from January 2000 June 2003) identify diagnosed who had been Clinic. Endoscopic features required for included esophageal mucosal furrowing, erythema, exudates, or decreased vascular markings. Histologic were more than 24 eosinophils per high-power field (HPF), thickening basal cell layer, papillary (rete peg) lengthening elongation. All patients treated combination proton pump inhibitors (PPI) fluticasone (swallowed). In addition, elemental diet instituted those documented have food allergy. Treatment success defined by an improved oral intake, adequate weight gain, endoscopic histologic findings at 3–6-month followup. A total 15 subjects [mean age = 19.9 months (SD 9.7 months)] fulfilled entry criteria during period identified. children improvement 14/15 resolution after therapy. 13 children, translated as well.
