摘要: The current study was done to assess the oncologic outcomes after inadvertent intraoperative contamination in treatment of musculoskeletal sarcomas, determine prognostic significance these events. Forty-three patients with malignant lesions and either positive margins or tumor penetration are included study. There were 12 bone 31 soft tissue lesions. final margin intracapsular 11 patients, contaminated marginal 13 wide 19 patients. Thirty-two received radiation therapy doses from 4560 7000 cGy. mean followup 69 months (range, 24-179 months). In whom surgical contaminated, additional removed goal being obtain tumor-free margins. Local recurrence occurred four 32 (12.5%) no gross residual tumor. a significant difference rate between (0 19) versus (nine 24) based on margin. High-grade more likely recur than low-grade lesions, Similar previous reports, reexcision irrigation wound results similar cases without contamination. Efforts should be made achieve Adjuvant therapies used whenever feasible.
