摘要: Weathering reactions were studied in samples of two subalpine soils from the Emerald Lake Watershed Sequoia National Park, California (36°35′N, 118°40′W). Rates weathering measured as a function pH and ionic strength. Reaction kinetics characterized by rapid H⁺ consumption, Si, Al³⁺, Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺ release first week. This was followed period which consumption cation linear time for up to 4 wk. Based on reaction stoichiometry equilibrium calculations, short-term these related Al solubility. The rate laws long-term acid approximately order with respect concentration range 3 5. independent NaCl concentration. These results indicate that acid-consumption are consistent surface-reaction-controlled mechanism. Although distribution products slightly different, fractional orders Ca, Mg response addition similar contrasting soils. rates solution composition, attributed plagioclase or hornblende.
