摘要: There are two main objectives of hypothermia in stroke patients: neuroprotection and treatment elevated intracranial pressure. It is important to have these mind, because they influence criteria that characterize certain features like the method used, time until should be initiated, complications, supportive treatment. The first method, which was successfully used patients, surface cooling. Treatment target pressure (ICP) patients with spaceoccupying infarction middle cerebral artery (MCA). This study successful lowering ICP. However, rewarming period crucial point, when one fifth died from transtentorial herniation ICP crises. Better control perfusion able achieved performed a controlled fashion. neuroprotective effect has not yet been proven prospective study, although there couple uncontrolled small studies. One other problem physiological reaction patient cold. Discomfort, shivering, agitation reasons for had intubated mechanically ventilated. These were also high rate infectious complications. With application new antishivering protocols, intubations may necessary performing future.
