摘要: An ion confinement, i.e., trap, apparatus comprises electrically conductive members, including concentric, coplanar rings or parallel sheets separated by dielectric spacers disposed on the outer edges of sheets, each having a circular hole, holes being symmetrically aligned substantially along common axis. The trap further has means for applying an RF potential to such that resulting electric field generated in space defined members characteristic quadrupole field. A charged particle, injected into space, is confined field, maintaining dynamic equilibrium condition.
