Military and veteran's health integration across missions: how a college of nursing "joined forces".

摘要: Abstract Background To address the unique needs of our returning military and veterans, White House initiated Joining Forces campaign has encouraged colleges nursing throughout nation to support this mission. Methods At University South Florida College Nursing, we have implemented a multifaceted approach that addresses education, research, employment. These military-related programs been unified under RESTORE LIVES (Research Education Rehabilitate Restore Lives Veterans, Services Members their Families) initiative. Results accomplish mission, enhanced curriculum include veteran health care issues, developed research wellness, launched an accelerated program enable veterans personnel with medical experience obtain baccalaureate in nursing, culture within college is supportive military-based employment needs. Conclusions We shared experiences through webinars presentations by hosting national conference.
