Characteristics of Synthesis of Very‐Long‐Chain Saturated and Tetraenoic Fatty Acids in Swine Cerebral Microsomes

摘要: : The elongation of arachidoyl-CoA (20:0-CoA) yielded 22:0 and 24:0 concomitantly, whereas the behenoyl-CoA (22:0-CoA) only a negligible amount in adult swine cerebral microsomes. dependence on time, pH, substrate concentrations were examined for synthesis from 20:0-CoA. A microcomputer-aided simulation study suggested that there two parallel pathways 20:0-CoA to 24:0. 22:0-CoA could not be observed microsomes; however, it was clearly newborn rat brain dilution experiment with addition cold reaction confirmed above suggestion no intermediate appeared during endogenous 20:4-CoA 22:4 24:4 microsomes, presence similar those involved suggested.
