Initial results of a new procedure for treatment of malignant obstruction of the left colon

摘要: PURPOSE: This study was undertaken to analyze the results obtained in 38 unselected patients using a new and original procedure for treatment of malignant obstructions left colon. METHOD: involves three phases: 1) resolution obstruction by means stem placed at site tumor; 2) recovery general state patient, extent disease, mechanical preparation colon; 3) regulated final surgery (if this is not suitable, stent may be used as definitive palliative treatment). RESULTS: In 35 (92 percent), resolved with stent. 22 phases were completed, 13 constituted treatment. Only one patient (2.6 percent) died after resection tumor. CONCLUSION: offers new, safe, efficacious option neoplastic colorectal obstructions.
