摘要: Abstract Composite Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP) are at the basis of so-called green aircraft production. In order to exploit full potential CFRPs for lightweight structures in aeronautic industry, there is a strong need apply adhesive bonding as appropriate joining technology load-critical CFRP primary structures. Up now, it not possible reach this important goal because unavailability an adequate quality assurance concept (e.g. pre-bond surface inspection), which guarantees safety joint and therefore enables certification. Surface contamination concern severely limiting robustness adhesion. work, we show how electronic nose solution could be designed used non-destructive tool inspection. An ad-hoc pattern recognition system also devised ensuring fast reliable assessment status by combining real-time classifiers implementing reject option. Results that e-nose can choice first line low-cost NDT aerospace assembly maintenance scenarios.
