摘要: The IEEE 802.11e extensions for QoS support in WLAN define the transmission opportunity (TXOP) concept, order to limit channel holding times of contending stations presence delay-sensitive traffic. We evaluate use TXOP a different purpose: "temporal fairness" provisioning among employing data rates. show that equalization access allows each station obtain its throughput basically (1) proportional rate, and (2) independent transmitted frame length. This also improves aggregate overall WLAN. For given limit, i.e., granted time, is required fragment pending if too short, allowed transmit multiple frames back-to-back burst long enough, while fragmentation bursting rules are possible. Based on analytical simulation results, we demonstrate advantages operations over legacy 802.11 DCF, compare managing policies find optimal one.
