摘要: In order to develop his pragmatist and inferentialist framework, Robert Brandom appropriates, reconstructs revises key themes in German Idealism such as the self-legislation of norms, social institution concepts facts, a norm-oriented account being critique representationalist accounts meaning truth. However, these have an essential ethical dimension, one that has not explicitly acknowledged. For Hegel, determination norms facts normative statuses take place context Sittlichkeit (“ethical life”). By engaging with some more ontologically ethically substantive points raised by I argue that, from Hegelian perspective, Brandom’s project regarding truth cannot be divorced ethics, specifically, dimension recognition. Furthermore, real situations (as opposed ideal ones), claims authority considered independently legitimacy those claims, is unable reasonably explain. Finally, solution problems facing framework calls into question unity reason at core pragmatics inferential semantics.
