摘要: Abstract A 40-kDa sexual stage radiolabeled surface protein of Plasmodium falciparum, Pfs40, was previously identified as a potential target antigen transmission blocking immunity by an immunogenetic approach. Synthetic oligonucleotide "guessmers," based on microsequenced tryptic peptides Pfs40 purified two-dimensional gel electrophoresis, were used to clone the full length cDNA and genomic DNA encoding Pfs40. The deduced amino acid sequence predicted integral membrane containing five EF-hand calcium-binding domains. biological activity one or more these domains confirmed binding 45Ca both native recombinant Antisera immunoprecipitated protein. noncytosolic membrane-associated localization is unique within superfamily.
