摘要: In a retrospective study, the cause of death and cardiovascular risk conferred by hypertension other factors were analyzed in 200 diabetic nondiabetic patients who matched for age, sex, year admission, center treatment. Total mortality considerably higher diabetics, being 4.8 times with type I 3.0 those II diabetes compared to controls. Cardiovascular progressively increased age had not improved recent years. both types diabetes, rate (58%) proportion (38%) deaths from causes significantly diabetics than Myocardial infarction (13%) stroke (7%) accounted only minority mortality, majority (80%) due "sudden unknown cause." Autopsy was carried out 33% sudden death. A documented history long-standing more patients. Diabetic retinopathy (an index microangiopathy) absence peripheral pulses, amputation, or myocardial infarction, stroke, transient ischemic attacks (as evidence macroangiopathy) caused surprisingly little increase relative but nondiabetics, cardiomegaly, particularly association electrocardiographic abnormalities, strong predictor
