摘要: Biopsy specimens of the small bowel were obtained from 40 patients suspected having malabsorption. Four different techniques used at a single session--namely, endoscopic biopsy descending duodenum using paediatric and standard size forceps suction capsule proximal jejunum. Specimens compared for size, adequacy, ability to confirm or exclude mucosal abnormality. Fourteen had villous atrophy. In all four with forceps. No specimen was retrieved in three jejunum five patients. considered be adequate 36 when used, 39 28 on duodenal biopsy, 32 jejunal biopsy.
