摘要: Of 18 mutants containing clustered point mutations within UL24 (an open reading frame that overlaps the herpes simplex virus thymidine kinase gene on opposite strand), 15 formed small plaques and were substantially impaired for growth in cell culture. Mutations conferring plaque phenotype disrupt regions of share considerable sequence similarity with frames common to herpesviruses mammals birds. We infer is expressed important culture suggest possible effects should be considered studies kinase-deficient mutants.
