摘要: Many of the changes that occur in rat cardiac muscle with advancing age are related to modifications membrane fatty acid composition, polyunsaturated acids decreasing and saturated increasing as animal develops. In present study, using cultured adult cardiomyocytes isolated from hearts rats a broad (1-24 months) range, we demonstrated pattern have be alterations mechanism desaturation/elongation essential acids. fact, independent animal, heart cells culture were capable rapidly metabolizing radiolabeled linoleic taken up surrounding medium, but different extent. The ability metabolize higher more unsaturated metabolites decreased animal's age. As increased, showed gradual significant shift, similar those reported whole heart. Data here confirm basic aging-related process cellular model system may also relevant aging animal.
