摘要: Despite the consolidated belief that macaque superior parietal lobule (SPL) is entirely occupied by Brodmann’s area 5, recent data show SPL also hosts a large cortical region with structural and functional features similar to of 7. According these data, anterior part somatosensory-dominated three architectural distinct regions (PE, PEci, PEip) caudal half bimodal somato-visual four areas: PEc, MIP, PGm, V6A. To date, most studied areas are PE, PE essentially high-order somatomotor area, while PEc V6A somatomotor–visuomotor areas, former predominant somatosensory input latter visual input. The properties their anatomical connectivity strongly suggest involvement in control limb movements. suggested be involved preparation/execution movements, particular, movements upper limb; both lower limbs, as well interaction environment; reach-to-grasp performed limb. In humans, traditionally considered have different organization respect macaques. Here, we review several lines evidence suggesting this not case, showing structure for human non-human primate SPLs.
