摘要: We describe the genomic structure of rat TRPM-2 gene. This gene is induced de novo during regression prostate and other hormone-dependent tissues after hormone ablation plays an important role in apoptosis, or active cell death. a single copy gene, organized into nine exons, ranging size from 47 base pairs (exon I) to 412 IV), spanning region 13,750 pairs. Comparison with sequences registered data bases shows that it has extensive homology SGP-2, expressed constitutively testis, although diverge dramatically 5'-untranslated mRNA (coded for by exon I TRPM-2), raising possibility alternative usage SGP-2. Primer extension, S1 nuclease protection, polymerase chain reaction analysis suggest transcript SGP-2 testis are fact identical only contain sequence identified clone. Analysis promoter demonstrates putative control contains several potential regulatory elements may regulate complex tissue-specific which must be some but repressed others until
