摘要: Abstract Particle inertial deposition in a tube with an abrupt contraction was studied experimentally and numerically at low pressure. Measurements were performed for particle onto orifice plate (orifice diameter: 1.16 cm ) placed (inner 3.48 ). The system pressure ranged from 27 to 37 Pa (0.2– 0.28 Torr the flow Reynolds number, Re, 3.0. Spatially uniform aerosols produced low-pressure environment by method developed Sato et al. (Aerosol Sci. Technol., 2001). observed deposition-efficiency curve as function of Stokes Stk, is different that obtained Re⩾100 atmospheric (J. Aerosol 21 (1990) 29; J. 26 (1995) 563). difference confirmed numerical studies. results Re=0.1–30 revealed shifts larger number decreases due flow-pattern changes near plate. An empirical ratio (the inner diameter diameter), R.
