摘要: Introduction: The principal dose-limiting factor in the use of cisplatin as an antineoplastic drug is its hepatic toxicity. This study was designed to investigate protective role taurine against cisplatin-induced injury. Methods: Male albino rats (180-220 g) were divided 4 groups (n=8) follows: (1) saline-treated group (2): cisplatin-treated (10 mg/kg ip) (3): that received (200 for 1hr before administration (4): treated ip). After 7 days, animals sacrificed and blood samples collected from heart well liver tissues kept at -70 °C till further analyses. Results: analyses showed significantly increased ALT AST serum levels (P<0.05) while pretreatment with resulted reduction these markers. Catalase activity decreased could recover this reduction. MDA content tissue cisplatin-exposed animals, treatment reduced amount tissue. Conclusion: Our data suggest prevents injury effect may be due antioxidant properties.
