摘要: Abstract Statins have anti-inflammatory effects that are not directly related to their cholesterol-lowering activity. This study aimed investigate the effect of simvastatin on extent tissue damage in cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity and hepatotoxicity. The rats received a single intravenous injection 2.5 mg kg−1 cisplatin. Other groups either (1 mg kg−1) or vehicle (ethanol:saline) intraperitoneally for 10 days beginning 5 prior cisplatin injection. All animals were decapitated after administration. Trunk blood was collected analyzed urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate (AST), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), albumin, total bilirubin levels. urine samples used calculation creatinine clearance kidney liver stored measurement malondialdehyde (MDA) glutathione (GSH) levels, myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity collagen content processed histopathological examinations. Formation reactive oxygen species monitored by using chemiluminescence method. Simvastation reduced both preserved functions (p
