摘要: The drag force on fourteen three-prong spruce shoots (Picea rubens) was measured over a range of wind tunnel velocities. boundary layer resistance to momentum transfer found be influenced by the shoot orientation, inclination, and flexibility. Momentum also needle density; however, this influence function orientation. For velocities below about 2.0 m s−1, these factors did not greatly shoots. above s−1 decreased with; (1) decreasing inclination airflow, (2) flexibility, (3) orientating so that densely-needled side faced wind. A pair empirical equations were derived relating velocity.
