摘要: Conclusions: To ascertain whether the pathology of eye and optic nerve might be useful in determining manner death infants who died after sustaining apparent nonaccidental intracranial injury. Methods: Complete autopsies were performed on 13 acute injuries trauma. The divided into two groups: nine with physical evidence blunt trauma to head, four without detectable scalp or skull injury whose attributed violent shaking (shaken baby syndrome). Six no suddenly from unidentifiable causes (the so-called sudden infant syndrome) served as controls. Results: Optic sheath hemorrhage, most prominent subdural space, was present all Multilayered retinal hemorrhage at least one 11 these infants. location quantity intraocular hemorrhages did not differ those external head lesions. A single control had a few erythrocytes fiber layer anterior eye. remainder have sheath. Conclusion: Histopathologic analysis may helpful distinguishing traumatic non-traumatic
