摘要: A statistical analysis of the accuracy immediate interpretation 425 fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsies from various sites was performed. Preliminary Diff-Quik-stained smears rendered within a few minutes after performing FNA biopsy, using diagnostic terminology similar to that surgical pathology report. The assessment documented in formal cytology report and compared final diagnosis. For entire series, had sensitivity 96%, specificity 97%, positive predictive value (PV) 98%, negative PV 95% an efficiency test 96%. There were 14 false-negative or falsely insufficient interpretations one false-positive specific also calculated; pancreas least accurate procedure, having 60% but 100%. role is use frozen sections pathology. An can (1) determine whether adequate specimen present, (2) render preliminary diagnosis, (3) guide further clinical investigations treatment, (4) ancillary studies are needed make more diagnosis specimen. Our results indicate procedure should be routinely employed.
