摘要: We analysed the records of 44 paediatric cases acute haematogenous osteomyelitis (age 0–14 years) and 25 purulent arthritis 0–13 years). The annual incidences were 4.5 less than two per 100,000 children, respectively. Bacteriologic diagnosis was achieved in 82% 40% cases.Staphylococcus aureus responsible for 70% proven combined, followed by streptococci (20%) andHaemophilus influenzae (7%), which caused only arthritis. Acute localized femur 41% knee joint 76%. Surgery (in most drilling, fenestration or arthrotomy) performed on 32% patients. Although six patients (but none patients) underwent surgery a second time, permanent damage, functionally non-significant, developed 14%. No sequelae found group. average duration antimicrobial therapy days group 29 prognosis children similar, irrespective whether drugs used staphylococcal penicillins, ampicillin, lincomycin clindamycin.
