摘要: Abstract Human metaphase chromosomes from blood cultures, treated with quinacrine mustard (QM), show a banded pattern of fluorescence, which in the most strongly fluorescent regions (3, 13–15 and Y) was found to be constant reproducible. As plant materials studied earlier, this appears so characteristic that it can help for chromosome identification. Improved fluorescence techniques should permit detailed studies on smaller human as well. A certain correlation exist between strong capacity QM-binding distribution heterochromatin defined by cold treatment (according Darlington & La Cour) or thymidine labelling-techniques.
