摘要: Purpose To describe issues of concern to children with chronic anterior uveitis; consider the psychological impact uveitis on children's lives; and understand effect a child's illness other family members. Design Expert commentary. Methods Author experiences were supplemented by review pertinent medical literature consideration content from semi-structured, separate patient parent interviews. Results Vision loss fear blindness are not only stressors for their families; additional burdens examinations treatment regimens, as well drug toxicities. Children experience medical, academic, interpersonal, psychological, developmental challenges. The disease extends members patient's well; parents challenges in similar domains. Problems adherence regimens common. Both its affect quality life, can interfere successful management transition autonomy adulthood, reported conditions. Coping processes vary greatly between different families. Conclusions Eye rigors long-term often influence psychosocial health patients physicians who aware these help families cope may improve outcomes. Further research dealing is warranted; this commentary serve foundation development age- disease-specific questions.
