An easy screening method for fungi producing ochratoxin A in pure culture

摘要: Abstract A simple screening method has been developed for detecting ochratoxin production by fungi, based on high-performance liquid chromatographic determinations extracts obtained from agar plugs cut pure Petri dish cultures. Two culture media, Yeast Extract Sucrose and Czapek agar, three extraction solvents (methanol, methylene chloride/formic acid, methanol/formic acid) were compared. All of the isolates tested produced in one or both media after 7 14 days incubation. Based results obtained, use is recommended. As solvent, either methanol methanol-formic acid could be used. This also provides quantitative information level The simplicity makes it very useful when many fungal need to screened.
