摘要: Abstract The electrochemical behaviour of tin anodes in 0·19 M Na2Sn(OH)6 solutions containing various concentrations Cl−, Br−, or 1− ions has been investigated. Galvanostatic potential-time curves at 1 mA cm −2 reveal that achievement electrode passivity is inhibited by the presence halide ions, but eventually attained; extent inhibition directly proportional to ion concentration. At 5 cm−2 and high Cl− concentrations, a breakdown anode observed. Potentiostatic current density-potential show all halides investigated inhibit anodic dissolution active region, tend break down permanent passivation leading pitting attack. critical potential shifts progressively more negative values with increasing In experiments, aggressive action decreased order > Br− l−. discussed light earlier theories.
