摘要: The anodic behaviour of a tin electrode in maleic acid solutions was investigated by potentiodynamic and chronopotentiometric methods. Measurements were conducted under different experimental conditions. results demonstrated that the polarization curves exhibit active/passive transition. In active regions, dissolves as Sn2+ which is subsequently oxidized to Sn4+ dissolution process controlled partly diffusion solution species. passivity due presence thin film SnO2 on anode surface formed dehydration precipitated Sn(OH)4. increases with increasing concentration, temperature scan rate. potential transients showed passivation time decreases applied current density. effect adding concentrations CrO42−, MoO42− NO2− ions studied. These inhibit promote attainment passivity. extent these changes depends upon type concentration inhibitor.
