摘要: Carcinoma of the uterine cervix, a leading cause cancer death in women worldwide, is initiated by infection with high-risk types human papillomaviruses (HPVs). This review summarizes laboratory studies over past 20 years that have elucidated major features HPV life cycle, identified functions viral proteins, and clarified consequences for their host cells. information has allowed development various strategies to prevent or treat infections, including prophylactic vaccination virus-like particles, therapeutic against proteins expressed cells, antiviral approaches inhibit virus replication, spread, pathogenesis. These potential dramatic reduction incidence cervical carcinoma serve as prototype comprehensive efforts combat virus-induced tumors.
