摘要: In this review we discuss the yeast as a paradigm for study of aging. The budding Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which can proliferate in both haploid and diploid states, has been used extensively aging research. divides asymmetrically to form 'mother' cell bud. Two major approaches, 'budding life span' 'stationary phase' have determine 'senescence' 'life yeast. Discrepancies observed metabolic behavior longevity between cells studied by these two systems raise questions how is defined measured. Added variability experimental approach results variety strains with different genetic make up 'wild type' organisms. Another problematic point published studies on use strains. We inherent, advantageous attributes that an attractive choice modern biological research well certain pitfalls model significance purported roles Sir2 gene, histone deacetylases, gene silencing, rDNA circles stress genes determination evaluated. relationship cultivation conditions are assessed. mammalian regard pointed out. unresolved problems concerning suitability basic phenomena.
