摘要: Purpose: To determine the nature and risk of neovascularization in fellow eyes patients with unilateral retinal angiomatous proliferation (RAP), a neovascular form age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Methods: A consecutive series 52 diagnosed RAP were studied retrospectively. Clinical biomicroscopic examination, fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography used to evaluate all for development manifestations eye. Results: Neovascularization developed eye over follow-up period (range, 2–36 months). All Twenty-one (40%) lesion within 1 year; 29 (56%), 2 years; (100%), 3 years. At time diagnosis eye, 8 (15%) had stage I lesion, 36 (70%) II III lesion. Other characteristic findings these included presence preretinal, intraretinal, subretinal hemorrhages 49 (94%) pigment epithelial detachments 41 (79%). Conclusions: In lesions, that develops is virtually always RAP. The annual accumulative higher than those other forms AMD. These new enhance our understanding clinical spectrum terms its natural course visual prognosis may possibly offer useful information establish future treatment options.
