摘要: The protective effect of cetraxate, an antiulcer and antigastritis agent, on HCl·ethanol-induced gastric lesions was investigated in rats. Oral administration 1 ml HCl·ethanol (60% ethanol 150 mM HCI) induced within hr linear hemorrhagic necrosis the mucosa. Either oral or intraperitoneal treatment with cetraxate (30-300 mg/kg) significantly inhibited such macroscopic a dose-related manner, inhibition at highest dose (300 practically complete. Histological analysis also confirmed that effectively prevented deep mucosal necrosis, but showed it without surface epithelial disruption submucosal edema response to HCl·ethanol. antilesion activity statistically significance for least 3 after single injection, hardly affected by removal contents just prior application necrotizing agent. However, subcutaneous rats indomethacin (5 resulted partial significant attenuation protection afforded suggesting dual mechanisms related unrelated endogenous prostaglandins may be involved its activity. results demonstrate is potent cytoprotective agent preventing formation
