摘要: The horizontal flow of equal density oil-water mixtures was investigated in a 1-inch diameter laboratory pipeline. Oils viscosities 6.29, 16.8 and 65.0 centipoise were used the experiments. Flow patterns, holdup ratios pressure gradients for range superficial oil velocity from 0.05 to 3.0 ft./sec. water 0.1 3.5 ft./sec, with input ranging 10.0. Similar series patterns observed each found be largely independent viscosity. At high formed continuous phase water-drops-in-oil regime noted. As ratio decreased concentric oil-in-water, oil-slugs-in-water, oil-bubbles-in-water oil-drops-in-water which observed. most viscous did, however, exhibit anomalous behavior at low velocities this is attributed different interfacial properties. The drops measured indicated that given rate gradient reduced minimum by addition provided not turbulent flow. Maximum reduction factors varied 1.7 6.29 viscosity 10 4.5 1.0 respectively.
