摘要: AbstractBackground Abortion rates in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) are nearly triple those Western Europe, due to less use of contraception highly restrictive abortion laws. Women resort clandestine often unsafe methods end unwanted pregnancies, exposing themselves risk complications mortality. Medical (MA) presents a safer alternative.Objectives To present evidence MA's contributions reduced complications, describe strategies enhance safe MA, highlight existing barriers access LAC, while examining role newly legal services.Results Substantial declines abortion-related morbidity mortality lower costs treating observed LAC with MA than other self-induction methods.
