摘要: Ion channel genes have been discovered in many microbial organisms. We investigated a TRP (transient receptor potential) ion gene which has most similarity to polycystic-kidney-disease-related genes. shown that this (pkd2) is essential for cellular viability, and involved cell growth wall synthesis. Expression of increases following damage the wall. This fission yeast pkd2 gene, orthologues are found all eukaryotic cells, appears be key signalling component regulation shape synthesis through an interaction with Rho1-GTPase.
