摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the genetic analysis of yeast spindle pole bodies. The explains concepts and methods for three powerful screens that have been fruitful in yielding body (SPB) components: a dosage-dependent suppressor screen, an extragenic synthetic lethal screen. An advantage is their sensitivity encompassing nature. Genetic can identify components found low abundance. Moreover, may provide connection between do not physically interact with each other but instead function same or parallel pathway. Dosage-dependent screen searches genes suppress mutant phenotype when present extra copies. mechanism suppression be direct by promoting binding one protein to another. In starts given are able this mutated. type reveal physical interaction among products two genes. basis concerns mutations separate
