Who are the SETI sceptics?

摘要: Abstract Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence (SETI) is now more than half a century old and has provoked enough discussion on technical, philosophical, popular level, much of it critical. Historically, the criticism SETI been strong to heavily influence course research, so that there significant interest in discerning nuances fine points critical argumentation. In this paper, I outline two major forms scepticism, “fundamentalist” “instrumentalist,” which are often conflated published literature, both technical popular. Precise delineation between these types scepticism important future research as part wider taxonomic project, build-up theory, well smooth joining with ongoing astrobiological revolution.
