摘要: Background The world's leading cause of preventable deaths, diseases and disabilities is smoking. Hospitalization can provide an opportunity for smokers to quit. Previous research found that make up a high percentage patients admitted intensive care. Health care professionals working in critical environments valuable contribution this public health issue by providing smoking cessation advice. Aim To identify factors inhibit facilitate the delivery advice nurses doctors settings. Design Quantitative design using online survey. Methods This was single centre study carried out large tertiary hospital. Study sites were two adult departments including 14-bed general 16-bed cardiovascular unit. The target population nursing medical staff environments. Results The data suggests have good understanding complications related tobacco use also education on cessation. Additionally suggest at generally positive attitudes towards Patient acuity competence concerns raised relation effectiveness environments. Conclusions The recovery phase following illness might be advice. This could include focusing efforts awake, orientated extubated patients. Further required confirm this. Relevance clinical practice The provision on-going World Organization New Zealand Government priority all parts sector need responses. However, responses adapted specific context such as unique challenges
