Infrared Signature of Structures Associated with the H+(H2O)n (n = 6 to 27) Clusters

摘要: We report the OH stretching vibrational spectra of size-selected H+(H2O)n clusters through region pronounced “magic number” at n = 21 in cluster distribution. Sharp features are observed and assigned to excitation dangling groups throughout size range 6 ≤ 27. A multiplet such bands appears small sizes. This pattern simplifies a doublet 11, with persisting up 20, but then collapsing single line 22 reemerging 23. spectral simplification provides direct evidence that, for magic number cluster, all arise from water molecules similar binding sites.
